Cockroach Control

Cockroaches present a health risk around your home due to their indiscriminate feeding sources from sewers, drains, and garage areas, bringing them into contact with diseases. These include salmonella and other microorganisms associated with hepatitis dysentery, tuberculosis, and typhoid. In addition, although they are rarely seen during the day as they are nocturnal unless the infestation is heavy, they harbour cracks and crevices in a home, kitchens, and laundries.

Commercial Cockroach Control

Cockroaches hide in cracks and crevices during the day, making it difficult for the occupants of infested premises to comprehend the extent of the infestation fully. These elusive nocturnal creatures constantly search for food, often venturing out at night and leaving behind a trail of disease as they scuttle across food preparation areas. Being omnivores, they consume anything, no matter how repulsive, and then proceed to regurgitate it onto clean surfaces, cutlery, and cooking utensils, leaving behind a trail of vomit and faecal matter that attracts others and contributes to the spread of the infestation. We adopt an integrated pest management approach to cockroach control, comprehensively examining all environmental factors that may have contributed to the initial infestation. Cockroaches are prolific breeders that thrive in warm, moist environments and are naturally drawn to the temperature-controlled spaces within our homes. If you have noticed cockroaches inside your Restaurant, Café or commercial building  we urge you to contact us  before a small number of individuals multiplies into a significant infestation.

Oriental-Cockroach kitchen  Oriental Cockroach

The oriental cockroach is dark brown to black and between lengths. 20-25 mm in length. Females are generally 5 mm larger than males and do not have wings, while males have smaller wings covering most of their abdomen. Habitat: These cockroaches are usually found in damp, dark, and secluded areas. They are commonly located in and around pipes and drains due to water availability. Indicators of Infestation: The presence of an oriental cockroach is a significant sign of an infestation. If you haven’t seen one, look for egg cases in secluded areas of your home and a distinctive musty Odour.

Australian Cockroach    Australian Cockroach

The Australian cockroach is typically brown with a distinctive yellow line around its head, often mistaken for the American cockroach. However, it is smaller, with a body length of 23-35 mm. They thrive in damp, moist environments such as the perimeter of homes or areas with access to water, like sinks and drains.           German Cockroach

German cockroaches are commonly found throughout Australia, especially in warm and moist areas. They are often found in kitchens, particularly near dishwashers, where they can find warmth, food, and moisture. When these desirable spots are all taken, they may move to less suitable areas. In heavily infested houses, German cockroaches can be found not only in the kitchen and laundry but also in unexpected places like chimneys, inside televisions, lounge chairs, behind wallpaper, and even under linoleum. Cockroaches are considered pests because they are probable carriers of diseases such as salmonellosis, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis, and tuberculosis.

American Cockroach 2

               American Cockroach

What do American cockroaches look like? American cockroaches are the largest of the 6, growing up to 53 mm long. They are reddish brown with a light yellow band behind their head. These cockroaches prefer warm, dark, and humid spaces but will survive in dry areas if they have access to water. They prefer basements, bathrooms, crawl spaces, kitchens, laundry rooms, cracks, and crevices. It’s common for them to migrate outside when the weather is warm and back inside when it gets cool. What are the signs of an American cockroach infestation? The first possible sign of an American cockroach infestation is a sighting. These cockroaches are very active, fast, and may even fly! More signs include reddish to dark brown egg capsules, droppings, and a musty odor. The odor isn’t even the worst part; the worst part is that these cockroaches use the odor as a reason to stay together in large groups. What are the risks of an American cockroach infestation? Similar to the Australian cockroach, they can carry bacteria such as salmonella and E. coli and trigger allergies and asthma. If they infest in large enough numbers, they give off an odor.

       Brown Banded Cockroaches

Brown banded cockroaches are the smallest among the six mentioned species, growing only between 11 to 14.5 mm long. These invasive roaches have a light to dark brown body with lighter tan or transparent wings that stretch across their body. The females’ wings will only stretch about halfway down their abdomen. Habitat: Primarily nocturnal, brown-banded cockroaches are drawn to dry and warm environments. They often seek shelter in homes, favoring areas with easy access to food and numerous hiding places, such as pantries, closets, and surprisingly, electronics. Signs of Infestation: Brown banded cockroaches are more active at night, but daytime sightings indicate an infestation. Look for dark brown fecal spots or smears in and around their preferred habitats. Additionally, tan-colored egg capsules dislodged between cracks and crevices are a telltale sign of infestation. Risks: Brown banded cockroaches are carriers of harmful bacteria that can lead to diarrhea, gastroenteritis, allergies, and asthma. They can transfer bacteria to food and preparation surfaces, posing the risk of food poisoning and dysentery.

               Smoky Brown Cockroach

The smoky brown cockroach, as the name suggests, is a rich and shiny mahogany color and can grow to be quite large, reaching between 35-38 mm in length with wings that extend well beyond their bodies. These roaches are known to enter homes through cracks and crevices, and what’s more, they can also fly. Typically found outside in sheltered and warm, humid climates, they will venture indoors in search of food. The first indication of an infestation is usually a sighting of the roaches themselves. Additionally, the presence of fecal matter and dark brown egg capsules near their frequented areas can also signal an infestation. An infestation of smoky brown cockroaches can lead to the presence of fecal matter, and like other roaches, they can spread bacteria that cause serious illnesses. And don’t forget, they can fly!
